Jakhar may get a house if Gill vacates UT residence

If things fall in line,Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly,Sunil Jakhar,may finally get an official residence.

Sources said,Jakhar is likely to be allotted House No. 500 in Sector 16,Chandigarh,currently being occupied by former Punjab DGP PS Gill. However,the formal orders in this regard are yet to be issued.

The UT Administration has already completed the eviction proceedings against Gill. On his part,Gill has conveyed to the UT administration that he will vacate the premises on October 16. However,sources said,he is yet to begin the shifting even though only a day is left.

Earlier,Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had allotted Jakhar the house currently being occupied by former Leader of Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal. However,despite several reminders and notices,Bhattal has refused to vacate the building,situated next to CM’s official residence.
