Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US next week, several Indian-American groups have decided to stage protest rallies against him.

Under the banner of Alliance for Justice and Accountability (AJA), these organisations will hold a peaceful protest rally outside the SAP Center in San Jose on September 27, where Modi would be addressing a full crowd of some 18,500 people with thousands others expected to be watching him live on big screens outside.

“AJA will hold a protest at the SAP Center on September 27, 2015 under the banner #ModiFail, to expose the realities behind Modi’s alleged accomplishments,” a press statement said.

The alliance, which describes itself as a US-based coalition of a diverse range of Indian-South Asian organisations and individuals, has also launched a website http://www.modifail.com, highlighting the alleged failures of the Prime Minister.

AJA had held a similar protest rally of about hundred people when Modi addressed some 20,000 Indian-Americans at the Madison Square Garden in New York last year.

“The Alliance will also reach out to elected officials and corporate leaders in the US to inform them about Modi’s failed and regressive policies that negatively impact human rights, religious freedoms, the environment, and overall: shrink the space for civil liberties under his rule,” it said.

“Narendra Modi is visiting Silicon Valley to talk about Digital India. But we’re worried by his record. Digital Indians deserve strong privacy and free speech protection,” said Anirvan Chatterjee of AJA.

Sikh for Justice’s legal advisor Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said that the New York-based outfit would picket Facebook headquarters when Modi visits the complex on September 27.

Supporters of Modi on Thursday announced to gather in large numbers to welcome him outside his hotel when he arrives in New York to attend the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.

These self-serving groups have no credibility in the community but make noise o put down India and its people. They hurt the sentiments of Indian diaspora who have brought laurels to themselves and India wherever they have gone.

These are stani supported people in addition to J&K Separatists, leftists (communists and their so called intellectuals) and some NGOs opposing any thing good for India. They will always keep on doing such things as long as they are financed from the begging bowl of stan.

This is a small group of stan backed J&K separatists, leftists and anti national elements financed by stan ISI. This bunch has formed many names with the same people and always involve in activities against Indian interests. Some NGOs also join them on specific issues against Indian interests.

These people are the same who tried hard to block his visa, scuttle the video conference etc. They are the black sheep who helped British to capture the nation, and now trying to scuttle efforts of Modi to raise the nation. Any amount of condemnation for these gutter worms is not enough.

Hypocracy! Some so called political leaders who are inefficient, incompetent failed persons try to show that they are FACE of India. No need to mention - people and world know the performance. Wise people of India should bring Dr.Manmohan Singh, Dr. Rajan, Kejriwal, Hardik Patel, Capt. Amrinder Singh to improve the economy and welfare of people - Jarnail Singh Dhillon

There are many anti-India and anti-Modi groups like "Sikhs for Justice", "Alliance for Justice and Accountability (AJA)" with vested interests whose aim is to defame Modi and to bring down the very por BJP government.

In any case, no Indian prime minister had so far faced these kind of controversial situations. There couldn't be fume without fire. Human beings are far more important than politicians. We need to be far more objective and pragmatic to turn around India into a modern nation. This is in the hands of the people; not in one person's hands!
