The trough of low at sea level over southwest Bay of Bengal off south Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coasts has become less marked.

Forecast valid until the morning of Mar 13th. Rain/thundershowers at;

East: Isolated places in Arunachal Prdesh,Assam,Meghalaya,Nagaland,Manipur,Mizoram,Tripura,Sub-Himalayan West Bengal,Sikkim,Jharkhand and mainly dry in Gangetic West Bengal,Orissa and Bihar.

North: Mainly dry.

Central: Isolated places in Chattisgarh and mainly dry in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.

Peninsula: A few places in coastal Tamil Nadu; isolated places in south coastal Andhra Pradesh,interior Tamil Nadu,Kerala and mainly dry in Gujarat state,Konkan,Goa,Madhya Maharashtra,Marathwada,north coastal Andhra Pradesh,Telangana,Rayalaseema and Karnataka.

Islands: Many places in Nicobar Island; a few places in Andaman island and isolated places in Lakshadweep.

Temperatures recorded in four metropolotin centres were:

The trough of low at sea level over southwest Bay of Bengal off south Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coasts has become less marked. A trough of low at sea level over south Andaman sea and neighbourhood.

The trough in mid and upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 7.6 kms a.s.l. now runs roughly along Longitude 87 degree East to the north of Latitude 22 degree. System is likely to move eastnortheastwards.

The cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep area and neighbourhood persists and now extends upto 0.9 km a.s.l. The western disturbance as an upper air system over eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir has moved away northeastwards.

The cyclonic circulation over west Madhya Prdesh and neighbourhood has become less marked. The cyclonic circulation over west Madhya Pradesh has become less marked. The cyclonic circulation over Madhya Maharashtra and neighbourhood has also become less marked.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Assam,Meghalaya,Manipur,Sub-Himalayan West Bengal,Sikkim,Haryana,Jammu and Kashmir,west Rajasthan,south Madhya Pradesh,Gujarat state,Madhya Maharashtra and in some parts of Jharkhand,Utarkhand,east Rajathan and of Konkan,Goa and were above normal in Tripura,west Uttar Pradesh,Punjab,Vidarbha and in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh,coastal Karnataka and of Kerala.

They were appreciably to mrkedly below normal in Tamil Nadu,south interior Karnataka and were below normal in some parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were below normal in some parts of Punjab,Himachal Praadesh and of south coastal Tamil Nadu.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Assam,Meghalaya,Nagaland,Manipur,Mizoram,Tripura,West Bengal,Sikkim,Orissa,west and southeast Rajasthan,west Madhya Pradesh,Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha and in some parts of Bihar,west Madhya Pradesh and of Gujarat region and were above normal in Jharkhand,Saurashtra,Kutch,Marathwada,south coastal Andhra Pradesh and in some parts of Konkan,Goa a nd in remaining parts of Tamil Nadu.

They were normal over the rest of the country.
