Forecast valid until the morning of Feb 22. Rain/Thundershowers at:

East: isolated places: Arunachal Pradesh,Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim,mainly dry: Assam and Meghalaya,Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura,Gangetic West Bengal,Orissa,Jharkhand,Bihar.

North: a few places: Jammu and Kashmir,isolated places: Uttarakhand,Punjab,Himachal Pradesh,mainly dry: Uttar Pradesh,Haryana,Rajasthan.

Central: mainly dry.

Peninsula: isolated places: south coastal Tamil Nadu,mainly dry: Gujarat state,Konkan and Goa,Madhya Maharashtra,Marathwada,Andhra Pradesh,north coastal and interior Tamil Nadu,Karnataka,Kerala.

Islands: isolated places: Nicobar Islands,mainly dry: Andaman Islands,Lakshadweep.

Temperature recorded in four metropolitan centres were:

The western disturbance as an upper air system extending upto mid tropospheric levels over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir now lies over Jammu and Kashmir and neighbourhood. A cyclonic circulation extending upto 2.1 kms a.s.l. lies over Punjab and neighbourhood. Systems are likely to move eastnortheastwards.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Jharkhand,east Uttar Pradesh,Himachal Pradesh,Rayalaseema,interior Karnataka and of Kerala and were below normal in some parts of Bihar and of Tamil Nadu.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in some parts of Uttarakhand,Haryana,Punjab,Rajasthan,Madhya Pradesh,Gujarat State and of Maharashtra and Goa states and were above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya,Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim,Orissa and of Telangana and in remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh and of Gujarat state. They were normal over the rest of the country.
