The analyses presented in the write-ups here are based on a post-poll survey conducted by Lokniti, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi. The survey was conducted among 2,060 respondents spread across 120 locations in 24 assembly constituencies of Delhi. The constituencies, polling stations and respondents were selected randomly using scientific sampling techniques; 132 trained field investigators approached voters for an interview soon after voting ended on February 7. The fieldwork was conducted until the late evening of January 8.

The achieved sample largely matches both the vote shares secured by the main political parties and the actual demographic profile of Delhi (see tables).
