Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur today urged the people of Punjab to come together to launch a protest against the “anti-national policies” of the Congress-led UPA government.

Blaming the Congress government for the current economic crisis in the country, the Bathinda MP said there was no hope of improvement under the present dispensation, with neither Prime Minister Manmohan Singh nor Finance Minister P Chidambaram offering any solutions. The only solution left is the dismissal of the Union government and imposition of financial emergency, she said.

“The UPA government is now trying to blame outside factors, including even the Syrian crisis, for the economic situation,” she said in a statement. Harsimrat said people would see through these excuses. “How can any so-called global crisis be responsible for the government’s own policy paralysis?” she asked.
