Fresh FIR against Paraskar, brother

The Kandivali resident had filed a written complaint against the two men in May 2014.

The police here registered an FIR against suspended DIG Sunil Paraskar and his brother Ravi on Saturday night for allegedly threatening a 27-year-old woman. This is the second FIR against Paraskar, who had been earlier charged with rape by a model on July 25.

The Kandivali resident, had filed a written complaint against the two men in May 2014.

The woman had alleged that the two men, including Paraskar, who was then the additional commissioner of North region of Mumbai, had threatened her to vacate a flat owned by Ravi where she had been staying on rent. The flat was located on the third floor of Gokul Society at Dhanukar Wadi in Kandivali (West).

As per her complaint, the two men called her to Ravi’s house at Mahavir Nagar in Kandivali (West) in May and after confining her, they threatened her with dire consequences.

Police said an FIR was registered against the two on Saturday. The case has been registered under sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 509 (gesture or word or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 506 (2) (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

The police are in the process of recording the statements of Tushar and Paraskar. “Paraskar will be called to the police station to record his statement,” said an officer.
