No arrest has been made in the murder of Pavittar Singh a boy of Chet Singhwala village till date. He was murdered on the night of July 3,at the end of panchayat elections outside a polling booth.

The SSP GS Randhawa said a special investigation team(SIT) is yet to submit its report and no arrests have been made so far. He said two poll staff were also injured seriously and have not yet recovered from head injuries.

Interestingly, the villagers met the DC,Ravi Bhagat, and have sought justice in this case. They have even demanded compensation and job for one family member. Confirming this,Bhagat said,“I have asked the SSP to get the inquiry report completed within three days. More than three weeks have passed . So far the request for compensation and a job has been made only verbally. Once they give it in writing,we will forward it to the Government.”

Lakhwinder Singh, father of Pavittar Singh said,“it is really sad that SIT has not yet submitted its report. Even the concerned police employee has not been suspended. The whole village saw Inspector Gurcharan Singh using his revolver and still the SIT is taking so long to submit the report.”
