CRPF,Police to remain extra vigilant ahead of I-Day: DIG

The DIG reviewed the security arrangements ahead of Independence day

The police and CRPF have to remain extra vigilant to ensure incident-free and smooth functions of Independence Day and Janamashtami festival in Udhampur area of Kashmir,said a senior police officer.

“The Police and CRPF officers should remain extra vigilant in their respective jurisdiction to thwart any harmful attempt by anti-national elements on these occasions”,said DIG Udhampur-Reasi range Jagjit Kumar.

The DIG reviewed the security arrangements ahead of Independence day and Janamashtmi festivals at a meeting in Udhampur attended by senior officers of district civil administration,police,army and CRPF.

He emphasised the need for round-the-clock vigil along the national highway to check the movement of any suspicious elements,besides close and regular Road Opening Party (ROP) by the CRPF. The police was asked to intensify checking of

hotels,sarais and dharamshallas in the town.

The DIG also asked the police and CRPF to ensure a humane approach while dealing with the public and cautioned them to remain extra vigilant and firm with criminals,anti-national and anti-social elements.

Search operations by the police and security forces were also discussed in the meeting and important directions were given to all officers.
