CBI nabs 13 aspirants for paper leak, books Railways officials

Sources said a team of CBI officials searched an apartment in Bangalore at 6.30 pm where the 13 aspirants were waiting for the question paper.

The CBI on Sunday busted a gang allegedly involved in leaking question papers, and also arrested 13 candidates appearing in the examination for the post of assistant railway loco pilot.

A CBI spokesperson said an FIR has been registered for criminal conspiracy and cheating under various sections of the IPC against Divisional Personal officer, Chief Vigilance Inspector of South Western Railways, an advocate, another person beside the 13 candidates.

Sources said a team of CBI officials searched an apartment in Bangalore at 6.30 pm where the 13 aspirants were waiting for the question paper.

It was promised to them that questions in the examination, scheduled for later on Sunday, would be leaked to them for Rs 5 lakh each. The spokesperson said after taking the 13 candidates into custody, residences of the other accused were also searched and some sample question papers and Rs 1.5 lakh cash were seized. No other arrest has been made so far.
