Cash-for-vote scam: Telangana ACB arrests second TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah

ACB had served him a notice earlier too. But on June 19, the MLA wrote to the agency saying he could not appear because of illness and sought 10 days' time.

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested another TDP MLA, S Venkata Veeraiah, in connection with the bribery scam case after questioning him for seven hours Monday.

Earlier, the ACB had arrested TDP MLA Revanth Reddy and his two aides while they were allegedly trying to pay a bribe of Rs 50 lakh to a nominated MLA, Elvis Stephenson.

ACB sources said Veeraiah, with Revanth, had tried to bribe several TRS MLAs to vote for the TDP nominee during the Legislative Council polls held last month.

On June 16, ACB had summoned Veeraiah. The MLA from Satupalli wrote back that he was unwell and sought 10 more days to appear before the agency.
