Gurdaspur: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Saturday said that keeping aside their political affiliations and ideologies,all the political parties of the country should join hands to solve the major problems being confronted by the nation today. Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the ‘Elders Retreat Home’ here,the CM said that rising above their vested interests,the political parties across the board should sink their differences and unite for public cause.

Management conclave begins

Chandigarh: The flagship event of Indian Institute of Management,Rohtak (IIM-R) ‘Mission India: Management Conclave’ commenced on Saturday. The theme for this year’s conclave is “Finding the silver lining – growth during business uncertainty’. Considering the current scenario of a global economic slowdown and when India is witnessing the slowest growth rate in the last four years,experts discussed various measures during the conclave’s first day.

Satya Parmar social welfare board chief

Shimla: Satya Parmar,wife of former Congress MLA Kush Parmar — son of state’s legendary Chief Minister (Late) Dr YS Parmar — was appointed as Chairperson of HP State Social Welfare Board. She will replace Veena Thakur,a BJP leader,whose term expired last week. Satya Parmar,who had also been PCC’s vice-president,will have three year term.

High Court’s new block inaugurated

Shimla: Justice Kurian Joseph,former Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court and currently a Supreme Court judge,on Saturday inaugurated newly constructed administrative block of the High Court.
