Online govt payments start in Punjab
Under integrated financial management system (IFMS) system,all payments at the government level,are being made through electronic mode (e-payments). Introduced for first time in the country,this is the next phase in computerisation undertaken by the Punjab government after linking all treasuries with the headquarters,an official spokesperson said on Friday.
5 officers promoted to IAS cadre
Five officers of Haryana cadre were promoted to the ranks of IAS on Thursday. These include Vivek Atray,Sanjay Joon,Sanjeev Verma,Jagdeep Singh and Anita Yadav. While Atray has been appointed as director (Supplies and Disposals),managing director (Hartron) and additional secretary and director (Electronics and Information Technology),Sanjay Joon is now the additional secretary (Home-II) and joint commissioner (Gurdwara Elections).
3 lakh tonne storage silos in Haryana soon
The Centre has decided to set up storage silos of a capacity of three lakh metric tonnes in Haryana for bulk storage of grains. Each silo with a capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes will be set up in Rohtak,Jind,Sonipat,Karnal,Sirsa and Kurukshetra in order to prevent the damage to the wheat lying in open. The state has set a target to procure 90 lakh metric tonnes of wheat this year.
Two held with illegal weapons
Haryana Police has arrested two persons with unauthorised weapons from two places of Sonepat district. A police spokesman said a pistol and eight rounds have been recovered from the accused Neeraj,a resident of village Nahri and Jitender alias Binder,a resident of Kami village.
Justice Jasbir Singh nomited to NLSA
Acting Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court,Justice Jasbir Singh,has been nominated as the member of the National Legal Services Authority. He is among the three judges nominated from across the country. The other two are Justices Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud of Bombay High Court and S P Wangdi of the Sikkim High Court.
Haryana sets up infra board
To prevent ill-planned and haphazard urbanisation in or around towns,the state has constituted Haryana Infrastructure Development Board (HIDB),which will act as the apex body for planning and development in the infrastructure sector. HIDB will act as a nodal agency to coordinate all efforts of the government regarding the development and implementation of infrastructure sectors and projects,involving private participation and funding from sources than those provided by the state.
