BJP MLA gets one-year jail for misbehaving with policeman

A local court awarded one- year rigorous imprisonment to BJP MLA Satish Malviya for misbehaving with a constable and preventing him from discharging his duties.

A local court today awarded one- year rigorous imprisonment to BJP MLA Satish Malviya for misbehaving with a constable and preventing him from discharging his duties.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 500 on the legislator in the case.

The sentence was awarded by Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Manoj Sharma under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (2) (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC, the prosecution said.

Malviya, the MLA from Ghattia constituency in the district, had misbehaved with constable Lakhanlal who was deployed at Chamunda Square and prevented him from discharging his official duties.

Based on the plea by Malviya, the court granted bail to him.

      A convicted person who has no respect for the law should be given bail by the courts.

        Based on the plea by Malviya, the court granted bail to him. so is he in PRISON or out on bail ....... who wrote this article? 12 year old?

            mla should have hit the constable few more times. lower rung police--upto s.i rank need to be thrashed both by superior officers and elected representatives of people. why not? mla should have the authority to slap a constable--because mal is elected by lakhs of people. where as constables are nothing but good for nothing criminals wearing uniform. upto constable rank.....90% are most times worse than criminals
