Union minister Beni Prasad Verma has called Narendra Modi the “biggest goonda” of the RSS and Rajnath Singh “his slave”, leading to a BJP complaint to the Election Commission and a request not to allow him in UP during the elections.

At an election meeting in Gonda Tuesday night, Verma said: “Modi is the biggest goonda of the RSS as the language used by him in elections is not normally used in a democracy…. Modi could not have become the party’s prime ministerial candidate without the nod of Rajnath Singh. This proves that Rajnath is not the president of the party but Modi’s ghulam.”

The BJP urged the EC Wednesday to restrain Beni as well as the Samajwadi Party’s Azam Khan from entering UP during the polls because of their “derogatory language”. Khan has made remarks against Modi in Rampur. The BJP requested the EC to “devise certain more stringent sanctions against these two gentlemen like restraining them from entering the state during the election period”.
