At least 29 Bangladeshis held for illegally crossing into India

24 Bangladeshis were taken into custody on October 11 and five more were held on Sunday, police said.

At least 29 Bangladeshi nationals were arrested during the past two days at Basirhat border in North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal for illegal entry into India, police said on Monday.

24 Bangladeshis were taken into custody on October 11 and five more were held on Sunday, police said.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old Myanmar national was arrested on Monday from Bangladesh border at Basirhat when he was trying to cross the border to enter the neighbouring country illegally.

During interrogation, Mohammad Aziz said that he used to stay at the Burmese camp at Hyderabad and was going to Bangladesh to meet some relatives, they said.
