One infiltrator killed in Uri, says Army

The operation was still on as army had reports of more militants hiding in the area.

The ARMY on Friday claimed an infiltrator was killed and another injured in a gunfight on the Line of Control close to the fence in Uri sector.

The operation was still on as army had reports of more militants hiding in the area.

Troops on the LoC had noticed movement of militants near Torna post in the wee hours of Friday, who officials said were trying to infiltrate into the Boniyar area of Baramulla through Hapathkai Nala.

Defence spokesman Lt Col N N Joshi said a gun battle took place between the heavily armed infiltrators and the soldiers of SIKH LI regiment, in which one militant was killed and another injured.

    The security forces does thier job constructive and well behaved manner in Jammu and kashmir with great ability and knowledge.

      And India's neighbor to the west describes the militant as a IOK youth " martyred " by the Indian Army. I think they live on misinformation - deliberate or otherwise.
