BJP leader Ram Madhav, who has kicked up a row by attacking Vice-President Hamid Ansari over yoga, on Monday said he wanted the controversy to end.

“See I want Yoga event to be remembered. Millions and millions of people participated in it. I do not want any further controversy. The matter closes here,” the BJP General Secretary and RSS nominee in the party told reporters.

Madhav, who was here to chair a BJP meeting and review the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, was replying to questions pertaining to the controversy generated by his tweets questioning Ansari’s non-participation in mass yoga celebrations on Sunday.

After his tweets, the Vice-President’s office last night came out with a statement saying he was not invited at all.

Asked about Ansari not being invited to Yoga Day, Madhav said he has no knowledge about it.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who hails from Jammu, also tried to downplay the controversy and said that Ram Madhav has already cleared his stand and there is no need to discuss it further.

Madhav, had in tweets, questioned Ansari’s absence from the mass yoga but deleted those after the Vice-President’s office protested. He then tweeted that Ansari was unwell, which was also contradicted by the Vice President’s office, which said he was not invited at all.

Ram Madhav is lying through his teeth. He had no moral or any other right to question the absence of the Vice President. Then immediately after that, he tweeted that he came to know that the VP was unwell and hence could not attend. When the VP's office issued a statement that the VP was not invited, then Ram Madhav tried another stunt by stating that he did not have knowledge about it. So firstly he had no right to question the VP and next he could have got the facts and then commented. So much of false claims and statements. This is the style of these bullies who are now in power. The world must be watching with frightful amazement how the 2nd highest consutional authority of the world's largest democracy is being humiliated. Looks like they are hounding him and prefer that he resign.

Please like Ram Madhav who are clearly against minority never leaves a chance to insult or humiliate minority people. He has badly fallen on his face for bringing a Muslim Vice President into controversy. He is unethical and very illogical person. These RSS men are just to spread hatred amongst common people and put their ideology of hindutva in India and upon minority. Why doesnt RSS understands that when Obama was returning he gave a tight slap of words on Modi (He asked to maintain the communal harmony in India). The RSS think they can make India a hindu state however they should also understand that India is a land of people with various beliefs and culture. If they try to make india a Hindu rashtra then all the allies which India depends on would go against them since these allies are Christian countries, Muslim countries and capitalistic countries.

Ram madhav you are very fast in thinking why somebody did not come to the event. Instead who should have thought why the tax payers money is spent by government to promote something which people will forget in a day or two
