Social activist Anna Hazare has not taken any stand against the BJP government since the party took over reins of power in the country. However, close associates of the Gandhian spoke of strong rumblings of a likely agitation brewing against the government in the Anna Hazare camp.
Hazare associates said they have detected his “deep disappointment” with the Centre for amending the Land Acquisition Act, that too by passing an ordinance. Hazare may launch his first agitation against the Modi government soon, some revealed.
Hazare believes the amendment will affect the livelihoods of the majority of farmers and farm labourers in the country, said his associates. The amendment has ruffled the feathers of the Gandhian who has started feeling that all the efforts of the India Against Corruption, a movement he spearheaded against the previous government, would come to a nought if farmers’ interests are not protected.
Some sources said that Hazare may launch his first agitation against the Modi government in two to three months.
