Air India flight force landed in Kochi

According to airport authorities, the flight returned to the airport half an hour later after take off.

A Kochi-Delhi Air India flight was forced to land back in Kochi after smoke emanated from the engine of the flight. Passengers, numbering 170, on board the flight AI 047 were safe, said airport sources in Kochi.

According to airport authorities, the flight left for Delhi from Kochi at 9 pm, but returned to the airport barely half an hour later. The pilot was informed about the smoke from the engine. The airport had taken all precautionary steps for the safe landing of the flight.
