One of the main accused, wanted in connection with planting of a pipe bomb allegedly targeting senior BJP leader L K Advani in Tamil Nadu in 2011, was Sunday arrested in Kerala, the police said. A team of CB-CID of Tamil Nadu, probing the case, arrested Badusha near Punalur in Kollam district with the assistance of the police. The police had announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh to those who furnished information leading to his arrest. Badusha was also allegedly involved in several cases of possessing or hoarding explosives.
The police said he would be brought to Madurai for further investigations. His possible link to the murder of BJP leader Auditor Ramesh and Hindu Munnanni functionary Vellaiyappan will also be probed, the police said. So far, 19 persons have been arrested in connection with the planting of the pipe bomb which was found under a bridge and defused hours before Advani’s ‘Jan Chetna Yatra’ was to pass through in 2011.
