700 absentee teachers set to be dismissed

This comes after the government dismissed over 400 such teachers sometime ago.

The Punjab government is ready with a list of 700 government school teachers,who are set to be dismissed soon following their absence from work as they had settled abroad without informing the education department,the Director General School Education (DGSE) office said.

This comes after the government dismissed over 400 such teachers sometime ago. Around 1,200 teachers of government schools had settled abroad without resigning from their jobs or taking permission from the government.

Most of these teachers have gone abroad over a decade ago. Many among them had even appointed proxy teachers in their place.
