Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu talks to The Indian Express after he forced adjournment over  girl’s alleged molestation and death.

What made you storm the well?
I had moved an adjournment motion and requested the Speaker to allow the injustice done to a 13-year-old girl in Moga to be taken up. I told her she too is a mother… Harsimrat Kaur Badal should have spoken about it, said the bus is ours (Badal family’s) and assured the strictest action will be taken.

What have you demanded?
I have demanded a (parliamentary) fact-finding committee.

You weren’t allowed to raise the issue after question hour.
I don’t understand what the pressure from the government on the Speaker was, but I felt sad that as an MP from Punjab I couldn’t raise such a key issue. Madam said it would be taken up at 6 pm, but there will be few people then.

What do you attribute the incident to?
The issue is connected to drugs, we have to see it in this perspective. These drivers and conductors are always high on drugs.

What will you do next?
We will fight out the issue in Punjab, on the streets or otherwise. As MPs, it is our right to raise it in the House too. Our effort will be to put pressure on the Centre; we have no faith in the Punjab government.

Because the girl died after falling/thrown out from the bus, this matter came in to light other wise there are many politicians who own bus companies and many such incidents get hushed up!Our media does some prime time drama by holding TV debates and slowly the matter gets buried.Best example is our media never pointed a finger to Rahul hi for ten years when congress was in power and millions of farmers committed suicide.Suddenly today our journalists want to promote Rahul after his two month long exile, what a hipocrasy?

why the m p's do not learn the procedures of the game. always holding the proceedings do not pay and every body is watching. if true legislators then do your home work properly. you have since chosen public life then live it and create examples. raising the issues beyond the stited time or otherwise is not a good practice. but when we see the consution of the parliament, the most of the members are only coming from the families who are there from generations and there are only a few who are coming of their own work. look at the level of debate. a medicine by baba ram dev can hold the house at ransom and as if there are no other issues left. one thing is certain the mes are not that other issues left. their atudes reflects on their faces and shows their failures and in the depth of their heart they know modi has made it from a very humble ground and there are no chances at horizon that they can ever acquire such a position because of the part structure they belong to and the leadership in the their parties will not let them acquire the key positions meaning thereby that it is the end of heir political carrier. please raise the level of debate.
