5 murders in 22 days baffle Shirdi police

The Shirdi police are probing the similarities between the five cases of alleged murders of five aged homeless persons in 22 days at various location in and around the temple town.

The Shirdi police are probing the similarities between the five cases of alleged murders of five aged homeless persons in 22 days at various location in and around the temple town. on July 8,two bodies of homeless persons,a man and a woman,were found near the railway station in Shirdi.

“The deceased were middle-aged and till now remain unidentified. The bodies had head injuries inflicted using blunt objects,probably stones. On Monday three more bodies were found. One was near a hotel and two other were found near the government rest house,” said D P Pawar,inspector with the Shirdi police station. The police have ruled out robbery in these cases.

“There belongings were untouched. But there are striking similarities. Head injuries inflicted with stones,covering of bodies with clothes…all are homeless aged people. We are probing into various possibilities,” he said.
