Dowry Death is a myth. Have you ever seen, or heard of bride burning near to your home or relative? Any death of wife within 7 year of marriage is considered as dowry death. If the law is so diluted, how will you trust this data. And only 18% end in conviction. What about those 82% who goes to jail for Trail??

It saddens one and all that the number of the dowry deaths in the country is on the increase despite stricter laws in place there to deal with such incidents of this social vice. Some public awareness programs both on the government and the private sector levels are also needed so that people may realize the insidious effects of the evil and do not leave any stone unturned on their end to stem this deep-rooted practice as earlier as possible to make the marriages dowry-free.

This data is just farce (far less than actual dowry death)- just like number of children abducted every year in India (Govt told SC it to be only 25,000 for 3 years while Kailash Satyarthi ured SC that it can not be less than 100,000 per year) .

The minister found it better to be silent on the no of acquitals, the no of husbands committing suicide, no of false cases and harrasment, blackmail Of husbands for extortion, quick, divorce, adultery cover. She also should have given opinion on the modus opei of sec 498 A where at the mere complaint of a woman her husband and his family have been arrested and kept in custody in the wife place of complaint, harred abused, humiliated, socially marginalised, subjected to mob violence, denied access to legal help by detention at in-laws hometown where husband has no resources, financial distress caused by lawyers expenses and wife's extortion. To add to that loss of economic activity due to frequent reporting to the police, suspension even dismissal. All while the wife enjo life at the husband's expense and home. That majority of the cases resulted in acquittal shows that the law and justice process has become a tool for vendatta against men. All that politicians of the filthy variety may corner women's votes, designed by officials infected by rabid feminism. As the minister depends on funds of male taxpayers and her govt. Support of men as well. She should have come out with a balanced statement.
