The Haryana Cabinet,on Friday,approved the extension of Delhi Metro from Mundka to Bahadurgarh. The state will spend Rs 788 crore on the project including a contribution of Rs 152 crore as grant towards one-third equity of Delhi segment.
The cabinet also decided to collect toll tax on recently improved Saha-Shahbad road of Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Department. The 17 km long stretch finished at a cost of Rs 14.75 crore will now charge Rs 200 per trip including return journey from trucks,buses,carriages and heavy-vehicles. A daily pass will cost Rs 300 and a monthly pass Rs 6,000.
It was also decided that the filling up of 471 forest guard posts will be taken out of the purview of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission.
Haryana bans gutkha,pan masala
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government on Friday banned manufacturing,storage,distribution or sale of gutkha pan masala,zarda or other chewable products containing tobacco and nicotine in the state. The ban will come into effect on October 15,Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said.
