Citizens Rights Trust hosts seminar on nurses’ rughts

Justice Sathasivam stresses that nursing profession should be enhanced by advanced technology.

Citizens Rights Trust,an NGO promoting human rights and legal literacy,conducted a seminar cum workshop on ‘Nurses and their Rights’ in New Delhi to mark the International Nurses Day.

Speaking on the occasion Justice Sathasivam of the Supreme Court of India stressed that nursing profession should be enhanced by advanced technology.

”Nursing is a noble profession. The grievances of the nurses should be addressed in the government and non-government sector.

In a message sent on the occasion,Justice P V Reddy,the chairperson of Law Commission of India,said: ”a committee should be set up to look into the grievances of nurses in India.”

Nurses from all over India attended the event celebrating the birthday of Florence Nightingale. During an interaction,expressed their appreciation towards the initiation of Delhi High Court and the apex court against the bond system.

Sister Jessy Kurian,chairperson of Citizens Rights Trust,urged the nurses to fight for their rights. Sr Leona,vice chairperson,and Sneha Kalita,the secretary of CRT also spoke on the occasion.
