Controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik may soon be booked under the stringent anti-terror law as the legal opinion sought by the Home Ministry has recommended action against him and his NGO, Islamic Research Foundation (IRF).

Sources said the Home Ministry had sought a legal opinion on the possible action to be taken against Naik for his controversial activities, including allegedly delivering hate speech.

The legal opinion is understood to have conveyed to the Home Ministry that Naik’s statements in different forums allegedly promoted enmity and hatred between religious groups and inspired and incited terrorists.

A case of could be registered against Naik under anti-terror laws for allegedly delivering hate speech on different occasions, sources said quoting the legal opinion.

The legal opinion suggested that there is a “conscious intention” on Naik’s part towards spreading enmity among religious groups.

Apart from Naik, cases should be registered against his NGO IRF, which is allegedly funded radical activities, the legal advise said to have suggested. Naik has come under the scanner of the security agencies after Bangladeshi newspaper ‘Daily Star’ had reported that one of the attackers of the July 1 terror strike in Dhaka, Rohan Imtiaz, ran a propaganda on Facebook last year quoting Naik.

Naik, in his lecture aired on Peace TV, an international Islamic channel, had reportedly “urged all Muslims to be terrorists”. Naik, a popular but controversial Islamic orator and founder of Mumbai-based Islamic Research Foundation, is banned in the UK and Canada for his hate speech aimed against other religions. He is among 16 banned Islamic scholars in Malaysia.

He is hugely popular in Bangladesh through his Peace TV, although his preachings often demean other religions and even other Muslim sects.

Since this govt came to power at centre and in some states, its focus continued revolving around some communal issues like love jihad, ghar wapasi, cow protection and several other non issues. It seems the party alongside with its givts giving preference to communal agenda to issues that concern people in real life. Muslim youths of the country rarely found engaged with terror activities. Whoever found involved turned out to be foreigners. Yet Muslim youths are framed under false charges. The preacer in question has been active since long but seldom drew objectionable attention. In was only when a foreign media reported that the youths engaged in dhaks attack were inspired by Dr. Naik's preachings. It is expectable from the party in power to rack such issues personal interest than national interest. How much does it concern with national interest will get revealed only during court proceedings. More crucial interests that demand attention is yet to be touched. Our relations with our long term friends Nepal, Bhutan need improvement. Recent developments there strained our relations with them. Strategic tie ups, commercial tie ups all hanging in doldrums. What country is realizing in terms of diplomatic fronts are not clear. A big m of country's potion is educated now. They observe every move of the govt keenly and analytically. Govt needs to frame its policies internal or external with possible impact in mind.

Mr. Zakir Naik, is a man for peace. Why BJP is after him. Just because he is Muslim and says spade a spade. Instead of supporting him to spread peace the media and in particularly Arnab Go Semi (crack) are bring falls allegations.

Listen and read in between the lines. Some top families have lost their children to his talks Peace TV has propagated conversions and of course leans towards f/wahabi leanage. Refuses the Shias. Zakir Naik claims that there is absolutely only one way to climb the mountain. South Africa should also ask the YOUTUBE to bring down the preaching of ahmed deedat another Guji decendant.
