On the 23rd anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat refrained from commenting on the role of the organisation in the incident. Instead, he acknowledged the day as ‘Mahaparinirvan Divas’ in commemoration of the death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar.

In his near 40-minute speech, Bhagwat called upon youths of the country to draw inspiration from prominent leaders like Ambedkar, Swami Vivekananda and K B Hedgewar who contributed to the nation’s growth.

“The ‘educated’ must not focus on personal benefits, they must use their knowledge and experience for the welfare of the society and country. It is the duty of parents to ensure that children have the environment and conditioning to attain that social maturity which enables to make a contribution to society and national development,” he added.
