A 32-year-old woman from Bihar was allegedly raped inside a moving train near Shadhara in Delhi. Three assailants entered the ladies coach of Jan Nayak Express, with the intention to rob the passengers, when it was diverted to Old Delhi railway station, The Hindu reported. On finding the woman alone, the three robbed her of her valuables and one of them allegedly forced himself on her.
The women bit the man’s private parts and his scream alerted two Railway Protection Force constables. They managed to apprehend the injured assailant, Shahbaz (21) , according to the paper, while the other two fled with the woman’s belongings. A case has been registered against Shahbaz and police were on the lookout for the remaining two.
A senior police officer told The Hindu: “All other passengers, barring the victim, had already deboarded the train. She too had planned to get down at the Old Delhi railway station. But before that could happen, she found herself surrounded by three strangers. Two of them snatched her handbag while a third, identified as Shahbaz, tried to strangle her first and then forced himself on her. The other two held her hand to stop her from resisting.”
