Police on Friday arrested five persons for running a sex racket and rescued three girls who were being trafficked out of Kolkata. “Acting on prior information, a team conducted a raid at “Raga Inn” at Rajdanga Main Road, Narkelbagan in Kasba. Five accused were arrested and three minor girls were rescued,” Joint CP (Crime) Vishal Garg said.

Sources said those arrested include Pradip Chowdhury (51), Sanjit Hela (39), Subodh Dey (43), Vickey Roy (20), Mrityunjay Mishra (24). While Chowdhury was the owner of the brothel and the trafficker, Hela was the customer, Dey was responsible for managing the brothel, and Roy and Mishra were middlemen who used to arrange clients.

The rescued girls have been sent to a home in Kolkata. Recently, state CID had busted a trafficking racket at Bakkhali in South-24 Parganas and rescued five women, including a minor.
