VIDEO: Naya Bazar explosion in old Delhi caught on CCTV

Naya Bazar explosion: Delhi Police’s anti-terror wing and personnel from its special cell along with crime and forensic teams reached the site of the blast to pick up samples.

An explosion in old Delhi’s Naya Bazar area on Tuesday morning left one person dead and at least five others injured. The explosion took place very close to a mosque in Chandni Chowk area, news agency ANI reported. CCTV footage of the incident released Tuesday shows the exact moment when the blast occurs.

The video shows a crowded road in Naya Bazar where a man is seen carrying explosive materials in a bag on his head. He is seen putting the bag down thus setting off the explosion. People are seen scurrying away from the blast site as soon as the explosion goes off.

Rescue efforts were carried out to assist those affected by the blast. Delhi Police’s anti-terror wing and personnel from its special cell along with crime and forensic teams reached the site of the blast to pick up samples. Naya Bazar is a highly congested area with houses and shops on either side of narrow lanes.
