Terming the demonetisation move ‘shuddhikaran (purification), I&B minister Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday lauded the film industry for supporting the Prime Minister his move against the black money.
Speaking at the 47th edition of International Film Festival of India, he said: “…some people are not able to sleep… because they have a lot of unaccounted money. Cleansing of India is going on — the Swachh Bharat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am not talking about politics, there is a campaign… MODI means Making of Developed India. Join the campaign, cleanse public life, set good example, create role models and become inspiration for other people,” he said.
He also recollected a 1946 film by the late BR Panthulu, Vijayalakshmi, based on the first demonetisation move in the country.
