A 47-year-old US national George Joseph Chosky was killed after an accidental fall from the first floor balcony of his rented bungalow in Vadodara’s Manjalpur area on Saturday morning, police said. According to the investigators, Chosky was playing with his pet dog in his balcony when the accident occurred while his mother Zofia, 71, was asleep in the bedroom.

Police said that at around 3:30 am, while Chosky was playing with a pet dog – an adopted stray – he accidentally fell over the balcony rails, with his head crashing into the concrete interior road of the colony, and may have died on the spot. Residents out for a morning walk spotted Chosky lying in a pool of blood. While his pet dog barked through the incident, police said Zofia did not make much of the dog’s signal and was unaware until neighbours alerted her.

“Chosky was rushed to SSG hospital here, where he was declared dead on arrival. We are investigating the crime scene to examine how he may have died from the fall as the balcony is not very high,” said Chetana Chaudhary, in-charge Police Inspector of Manjalpur police station. Chosky, who hails from Chicago in the US, had arrived in India two months ago on a tourist visa along with his mother for ‘sight seeing’. This was Chosky’s third visit to India.
