A video clip purportedly showing a policeman baton-charging people standing in a queue outside a bank in Fatehpur district went viral on social media, prompting Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to put under suspension the SP and the SHO concerned. The policeman is seen raining down baton blows on people, mainly farmers, waiting in the queue. The clip was aired by some local TV news channels.

Superintendent of Police, Fatehpur, Ram Kishore and SHO, Kishunpur, Sanjay Kumar Yadav have been suspended on the orders of the CM, a statement said.

The Chief Minister made an announcement in this regard during a programme at his official residence on Tuesday.

“The work of police is to help people who are troubled due to demonitisation. Lathicharging them is not good,” he said.

          Both the policemen got the jobs because of their connection to the Yadav family, so you can bet that they will just leave that area and be in some other area doing the same thing. Lack of human rights, lack of punishment for the politicians and police are the real threat to democracy. It would be nice for the police to help people stay in line and make sure that there are no people standing in line to exchange money for the corrupt.
