IT WAS six months ago that she was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old boy in Badaun district. On Wednesday, the 15-year-old was raped again in Moosajhag area of the district by the same boy, who had been released from a juvenile home after spending four months there.
The boy, who was caught by the police on Thursday morning, also thrashed and stabbed the girl with a knife after allegedly raping her.

Six months ago, the police had converted the charge of rape to molestation in the chargesheet it had filed. It had claimed that the girl, in her statement before the magistrate, had denied that she was raped and had alleged that she was molested by the boy.
However, the girl, who lives at her maternal uncles’ house, said: “We are illiterate… I had never denied the rape charge since the case was lodged in March. Police had taken my thumb impression on several papers… We do not know the status of the case… Today also, they did the same.”
One of her uncles, a farmer, added: “We go to court when asked by our advocate. We do not know about the chargesheet or any development in the case.”
The victim’s parents had separated about a decade ago. Since then, her mother had shifted to her brothers’ house along with her four daughters and a son. The eldest son had stayed back with his father.
Claiming that she was first raped on March 16, the girl said: “The boy had caught me when I went to dump garbage a few metres away from my house. He dragged me to a nearby field, stuffed a piece of cloth in my mouth and raped me. Then the locals had informed the police. He was arrested the following day.”
Following this, police had lodged a case on charges including rape, criminal intimidation, and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
The boy, who was then sent to a juvenile home, had been released in July.
Asked about the incident on Wednesday, the girl said she was alone in the house when the accused came late morning. “I was washing utensils when he knocked on the door and entered by pushing me. He put his hand on my mouth and dragged me to a room where hay and grass are stored for feeding cattle. He tore my clothes and raped me again. When I resisted, he stabbed me and hurt my hands. He also punched my face, and I lost one tooth,” she alleged.
When contacted, Moosajhag police SHO Wahid Khan said an FIR has been lodged on the complaint of the girl under various charges including rape, house trespass with intent to hurt, causing injuries by stabbing and also under the POCSO Act.
Badaun SP (City) Anil Yadav added: “The girl had lodged a complaint of rape in March, but our investigation revealed that she was only molested. So, we had filed the chargesheet under Section 354 of the IPC and POCSO Act. Even this time, after she lodged the rape case on Thursday, preliminary medical reports did not confirm rape, as there was no sign of internal injury in her private parts.”
The boy is 17 years and eight months old according to his Class VIII certificate. The boy’s father, who works in the fields of the village head, maintained that his son was not capable of committing such a heinous crime, and he was wasting his money by pursuing the case. “The boy is being framed,” the village head claimed.
