OROP is a long pending demand of defence personnel for last 40 years and it was put in cold storage.Even though Modi Govt promulgated it,it was only partial. It is not understood why the Govt did not adopt it in .The report of the one man commission is also in cold storage.Another thing that media is not highlighting - the disparity in pay structure of Officers and soldiers.Even a sodier with 20 years of service receives less pay than a newly recruited officer.Risk of life is same for every one, than why this disparity? It is a good thing that all political parties are now advocating for OROP.Some thing should also be done for SSC Officers and para military personnel also. The ry of a soldier should be more than a junior Officer of state govt and central govt.Military service of five years should be mandatory for applying for any Govt job.All political parties irrespective of their differnces, make it a rule to cotribute 50 % of one year ry of all MPs and MLAs for army welfare ociation. It will prove their real empathy towards soldiers.Paying money from govt ex chequer does not imply real feeling. One important thing - it is good gesture that all political parties are now with OROP and soldiers, but it must from the core of their hearts. The speeches should not be just a show off or eye wash. All people of the country must respect the soldiers with utmost sincerety and not just for political gain.Any selfish intention in this regard will be betrayal of trust.
