JUDGES FROM Telangana have launched a protest seeking withdrawal of the list of provisional allocation of judicial officers to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

More than 100 judges kept away from the courts in Hyderabad Monday, demanding that judicial officers who are natives of Andhra Pradesh should be allocated to that state instead of Telangana. Junior and senior civil judges and district judges from across 10 districts of Telangana are participating in the protest. The judges submitted a memorandum to Governor E S L Narasimhan.

Unless the Centre bifurcates the High Court, and forms separate courts for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, no one can stop allocation of judicial officers, said Law Department officials.

Meanwhile, the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad suspended two judges on disciplinary grounds following their agitation.
