CAPTAIN AMARINDER Singh “wants to become a hero for two months,” said Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during a function at Indian Institute of Scientific Education and Research (IISER) Friday.

Badal said, “Where was he when Indira Gandhi laid the foundation stone of the SYL canal? The SAD fought the battle to save Punjab’s water.”

“Captain is using every tactic to try to misguide the people of the state. He has resigned from Parliament just two months before the elections. Why did the Congress Rajya Sabha members not resign? It is only a gimmick, he is trying to become a hero for two months,” said Chief Minister Badal.

Badal alleged that Captain was the main organiser of the function during which Indira Gandhi had laid the foundation stone of the canal.

Badal said neither he nor his Cabinet colleagues would resign. He said the party would start mass protests in the coming days against the Supreme Court’s decision.
