Sustainable development award for Sikkim CM Pawan Chamling

President Pranab Mukherjee Friday conferred the Sustainable Development Leadership Award on Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling during the World Sustainable Development Summit, organised by the Energy and Resources Institute at Vigyan Bhawan here.

Mukherjee He also complimented Chamling on being the longest serving chief minister of a state. lauded Chamling’s role in making Sikkim the first organic state in the country and said that the Northeastern state has always tried to maintain harmony with requirements of climate change. He also complimented Chamling on being the longest serving chief minister of a state.

Chamling said the award was a validation of Sikkim’s efforts towards conservation and protection of nature.
