All flight operations at the Srinagar airport came to a halt on Tuesday afternoon after a MiG 21 aircraft overshot the runway while landing, causing damage to it. The pilot of the aircraft evacuated unhurt.

The Srinagar airport handles 560 flights a week and operations have been running smoothly over the week owing to Eid celebrations in the state. The airport is located at a distance of about 12 km from the city.

More details are awaited.

One more example of our pathetic state of our Air force, one has lost count of such accidents. All three services of our defence seem to be competing with each as to who is worst of all. With this kind of preparedness I doubt if we can even take on Bhutan if case of a war..

It seems mohan is completely unaware of the power of our armed forces or he is totally confused. I don't know how much knowledge he has with our forces... Siddhratha is right he is sleeping peacefully for sacrifices made by our forces..don't make undesired comments.....
