Samajwadi Party state president Shivpal Singh Yadav on Monday cracked a whip on seven youth leaders—including three members of UP Legislative Council—who had staged a demonstration outside the residence of party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and the party headquarters on Saturday demanding to re-appointment of Akhilesh Yadav as party’s state president. All these seven leaders are close to Akhilesh and they had got party post with his support only.
Those expelled today include—Sunil Singh Yadav, Anand Bhadauriya, Sanjay Lathar (all MLCs), Mohd Ebad who is state president of Mulayam Singh Yadav Youth Brigade, Brijesh Yadav who is state president of Samajwadi Party Yuvjan Sabha, Digvijay Singh who is state president of Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha and Gaurav DUbey who is national president of Mulayam Singh Yadav Youth Brigade.
As per Shivpal Yadav’s order, these leaders have been expelled from the party on the charges of making derogatory remarks against Mulayam, involvement in anti-party activities and indiscipline. They were against Mulayam’s decision to replace Akhilesh with Shivpal as party’s UP chief. They had staged protest even after Shivpal and AKhilesh both had said that decision of Mulayam will be followed by everyone in the party.
Mulayam too had later expressed unhappiness with demonstration of these youths leaders and had reportedly sought list of names of party leaders and workers who were involved in the agitation. Shivpal on Sunday had expelled (MLC) Arvind Pratap Yadav from the party on the similar charges. Arvind is nephew of party national general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav.
