The Shiv Sena has questioned the Centre whether it intends to carry out surgical strikes against China in view of reports of Chinese incursions into Ladakh.
“We are proud about the surgical strikes that took place in Pakistan. However whatever happened in Pakistan will the same surgical strike also take place against China,” an editorial in the Shiv Sena mouth piece Saamana said.

The editorial also took a swipe at Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar terming him a ‘bigmouth.’
“Our bigmouth defence minister should clarify on what action have our soldiers taken against this Chinese incursion. Only threatening Pakistan will not do, it is the responsibility of the defense minister to ensure security on the Chinese border as well. However people get ready applause when they speak about Pakistan at rallies. It is time that we extract ourselves from the politics of seeking applause and pay heed to national security, ” the edit stated.
The editorial also suggested that the present ruling disposition seemed to be only concentrating on Pakistani border at the expense of other borders.
“We need to be alert at our border with China. We speak about not acceding an inch to Pakistan and on the other hand we do not speak about the deep incursions that China has made at Leh, Ladakh and Arunachal. This is not correct,” the edit said.
The Shiv Sena shares an uneasy alliance with the BJP which has been marked with political acrimony and bickering. The two parties have announced that they will contest municipal council elections across the state together. However in spite of this alliance the rancour between the two parties over is the more dominant force remains.
