CJI remarks on judges’ appointment a reality check for PM Modi, says Rahul

The Supreme Court had on Friday sent out a stern message to the Centre over non-execution of collegium's decision to transfer and appoint Chief Justices and judges in High Courts.

A day after Chief Justice of India told the government that the Supreme Court would be forced to pass a judicial order if the logjam on judges’ appointment is not cleared, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi Saturday said the CJI’s observation was a reality check for the PM.

“Reality check from Supreme Court for the PM: No government of Modi, by Modi, for Modi,” Rahul tweeted.

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said the delay in appointment of judges because of the tussle between the government and the judiciary was a serious matter. “Even we were in the government, we never adopted such an approach towards the courts…,” he said.

Itis eternal story of Bramhan-Khatriya- who rules the country! But in Modern day DEmocracy(!) the fight between Executive and JUdiciary is shameful. There is severe shortage of Judicial bodies not due to lack of suitable candidates, nor due to low emoluments- but a tussel between the parties USA also these things happening.Executive wants to pack the Cort with their malleable candidate, where as Judicary wants their favourites. The legislature is paralysed. No body sees the suffering of millions who come to S/C or H.C from far and distance at huge cost and physical torure.JRB
