Stating that Indian defence forces are in no way responsible for the Scorpene submarine documents leak, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar Friday said the leak took place at the end of DCNS, the French partner in the submarine project.

“The ‘restricted’ documents are of 2011 (and) were stolen from DCNS. The submarines are now at an advanced stage of production,” Parrikar said on the sidelines of an event to commission Coast Guard ship ‘Sarathi’. He said the government is proceeding with the assumption that all details were leaked and is accordingly taking precautions, but added that he cannot give more specific details on the measures taken.
