SAD councillor arrested for thrashing AAP workers after farmers’ rally

The Baghapurana police Monday arrested Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) councillor Satnam Singh alias Sattu for allegedly thrashing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers late Sunday night after AAP’s farmers’ rally in Moga.

The police have also recovered a 0.32-bore revolver from him. The victims were identified as Gobind Singh, Balwinder Singh and Shankardeep Singh.

AAP worker Baljinder Singh in his FIR said that Singh had barged into his shop late Sunday night and thrashed him. The victims then had just returned from the rally. The accused also vandalised their vehicle which had AAP written on it. The accused also fired two gunshots in the air to frighten the victims.DSP Baghapurana Jaspal Singh said that SAD councillor was arrested after an FIR was registered.
