Youth must be told to say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’: RSS chief

"Now the time has come when we have to tell the new generation to chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' (hail mother India). It should be real, spontaneous and part of all-round development of the youth," he said.

RSS, RSS sedition, RSS anti national, Mohan Bhagwat, RSS JNU, RSS JNU row “Now the time has come when we have to tell the new generation to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ (hail mother India). It should be real, spontaneous and part of all-round development of the youth,” said Mohan Bhagwat.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said the new generation needs to be taught to chant slogans hailing mother India, comments that come against the backdrop of a raging row over alleged anti-India sloganeering on the JNU campus.

“Now the time has come when we have to tell the new generation to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ (hail mother India). It should be real, spontaneous and part of all-round development of the youth,” he said.

Bhagwat, without making any direct reference to the JNU controversy, said this is necessary as “some forces” are telling the youth not to say “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. The Delhi-based Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) hit the headlines in early February when a group of students allegedly raised anti-India slogans during an event organised on the death anniversary of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

Police later filed a sedition case in which three students, including the JNU students union president Kanhaiya Kumar were arrested. Bhagwat was speaking at RSS headquarters in Reshimbagh during an award giving function. On the occasion, the RSS chief presented “Matrashakti” award to social activist Sindhutai Sapkal.

I dont think Bharat is my mother. I have only one mother. Even cow is also not my mother. I love my country and say Jai Hind or Hindustan Zindabad. It is a matter of choice. No one can force me to chant against my will. Sare Jahan se achcha hindostan hamara.

There is small problem here which Mohan Bhagwat knows about but will not address because addressing it goes against his agenda. The problem is subtle diffrence between saying Bharat ki jai jai and saying Bharat Mata ki Jai. For an Indian muslim and a Christian (less for a christian because some of us dont worry too much about compromising with the Bible) saying Bharat ki jai will not be a problem. But the movement you say Bharat Mata ki jai, it becomes a major issue. The problem here is not that Muslims or Christians hate India, or that they hate the idea of India. The problem here is a bit deeper. Bharat Mata is an idol, Hinduism as a religion has no problem with creating and worshiping idols. But the movement you force a Muslim or a Christian to say Bharat Mata ki jai, you are forcing him to acknowledge an idol. You are asking him to go against Quran/Bible, something which he cannot do. Mohat Bhagwat ji, your followers might not know the truth, but you do. Stop spreading hate. Tell people to say Bharat ki jai, something which will not create religious and communal tensions but alas doing so will be against your agenda of dividing India. First you will force Muslims to say Bharat Mata ki jai, when they refuse you will call them traitor and stani traitor. So the only option left for a true Muslim will be to leave Quran or to be bed as a Traitor. Shame on you.

I will say Bharat Mata ki jai if the upper caste people and moronic Sanghis start to give respect to Mothers, fathers and sisters of dalits, tribals and minorities. As Kanhaiya Kumar says - If the concept of your Bharat Mata does not includes my Mata i have no reason to believe in the concept of Bharat Mata Sanghis want us to believe.

This all that Chaddi culture can do, no future plans, no developmental plans, no plans to improve farming, provide work for youth, no plans for establishing industrial development, no plans for middle cl to retire in peace. These dumb s are ruining the lives of youth in the name of religion and murderous ideology of Bharat. If at all any one needs public canning for not caring for Indians then it is these netas who swindle public money and instigate violence to create a cult following for themselves

BUT today they are saying chaddi has ruined the country. Our impotent leaders like Patel and Rao and soft-p.o.r.n Hindutva elements in congress allowed rabid organisations to mushroom and preach hate openly. The criminal elements of the society saw huge opportunity in terms of not only impunity but status as well and they joined such organisations in hordes. Nation's downhill descent will only worsen as rule of law becomes impotent or is only "selectively" applied. Make no mistake, this country is God's gift to mankind, but today it's in deep trouble but the real worry is future is far too bleak.

Death to Patriarchy. Think young and Think Novel and Think for yourself. That for the youth should be the Mantra. That is the way to the future. They will be the new leadership. Let us not ask them to ossify and be no more than their aging gparents. I am yet to see a SINGLE man from India sport a large caste-mark on his forehead outside the country. How skin-deep can this be? That includes many of the same characters who have different values inside the country and outside.

who is true nationalist ? the one who say Bharat ki Jai or one who say India ki jai or one who say Bharat mata ki jai? who will decide it ? Mr Bhagwat or Indian Law. How Bharat can be a Mata? Bharat was the name of the male on whose name India is also known. SO why it becomes necessary to say Bharat Mata ki jai to show and prove being nationalist?

from the `Discovery of India' by Jawaharlal Nehru "Sometimes as I reached a gathering, a great roar of welcome would greet me: Bharat Mata ki Jai-- Victory to Mother India! I would ask them unexpectedly what they meant by that cry, who was this Bharat Mata, Mother India, whose victory they wanted? My question would amuse them and surprise them, and then, not knowing exactly what to answer, they would look at each other and at me. I persisted in my questioning. At last a vigorous Jat, wedded to the soil from immemorial generations, would say that it was the dharti, the good earth of India, that they meant. What earth? Their particular village patch, or all the patches in the district or province, or in the w of India? And so question and answer went on, till they would ask me impatiently to tell them all about it. I would endeavour to do so and explain that India was all this that they had thought, but it was much more. The mountains and rivers of India, and the forests and the broad fields, which gave us food, were all dear to us, but what counted ultimately were the people of India, people like them and me, who were spread out all over this vast land. Bharat Mata, Mother India, was essentially these millions of people, and victory to her meant victory to these people. You are parts of this Bharat Mata, I told them, you are in a manner yourselves Bharat Mata, and as this idea slowly soaked into their brains, their eyes would light up as if they had made a great discovery."
