The chief minister said the state police and its officers have played an important role in “maintaining the law and order and communal harmony” under adverse conditions and asked the officials to act against “every criminal however influential they may be”.
Of the total 479 policemen who died across country between September 1, 2015 and August 31, 2016, 116 were from the state. They include one additional SP, four inspectors and 16 sub-inspectors.
