An RSS affiliate’s advice to madrasas to hoist the national flag on campuses on Republic Day has drawn criticism from prominent Islamic seminary Darul-uloom-Deoband, prompting the Muslim Rashtriya Manch to clarify it never doubted the patriotism of these institutions.

The Islamic seminary has objected to the MRM’s call and asked the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) whether it “believed” in the Constitution of India and the national flag.

Ashraf Usmani, press secretary of the seminary said though the decision to unfurl the national flag was the individual choice of madrasas, almost all of them hoist it and celebrate Independence and Republic days.

Hitting out at RSS, Usmani wanted to know the Sangh’s contribution to the national freedom struggle in which he said madrasas had played an important role.

“It (RSS) only worships the saffron flag. First it should hoist tricolour at its headquarters and other offices and only the it should talk about madrasas,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Rashtriya Manch has clarified its intention behind the campaign was not to test or doubt the patriotism of the religious educational institutions.

“We have been appealing the madrassas to hoist national flag on January 26 and August 15 for the last five years,” national convenor of MRM Mohammad Afzal told PTI.

“Since this time our government is at the Centre, we are planning to organise the event on a large scale, but this doesn’t mean that the Manch has any doubt about the patriotism of madarasas or wants to target them through this campaign,” he said.

Afzal said all citizens should hoist the tricolour on important national events.

“MRM workers will hoist flag at madrasas in their areas on January 26. Being a Muslim we will talk about madrasas. Muslims love their motherland and salute the tricolour,” he said.

Why this suggestion coming from RSS. Isn't it same RSS which has objection in accepting tricolor as national flag? Isn't it same which has objection to conution? Isn't it same which had almost 3 times ban from india Gov on basis of anyti national acts? Yes, all must hoist tri color on republic and independence day and all are doig it. But RSS does not have credibilty to show such administrative power. Gov india is capable of doing this. RSS need to first clean their own hands before advising others. They first need to read the consution and follow it before trying to become smart.

RSS has there own flag. And they raise there own flag not National Flag on Independence Day and Republic Day. Are they patriotics ??? Who are they to ask others to raise the flag. They hoisted their saffron flag and not national flag on every occasion for more than fifty years even after independence unless Supreme Court ordered them to hoist national flag. Right from their formation to fighting for independence and inating father of nation, there are numerous incidences linked with RSS which are against the interest of nation. A few of them are quote below by knowledgeable persons.

Brush up your history of the war of 1857 folk, it is always better to have an informed view rather than spoonfed by the fanatics of khaki.

You should read history and should also know that most of the communal riots were engineered by this org, and the in of the Father of the nation too inspired with their ideology. Another proof of their nationalism is their defiance of the highest court of the land by demolishing the Babri Masjid, and not to forget people who are involved in Samjhauta and other blasts.

National flag is permitted to be hoisted freely on Independence Day and Republic Day. Why this suggestion irks Madrasas? The loyalty of RSS is only to India, what about Madrasas? Why the caption "Row"?

you cannot force anyone to be patriots, it comes from within. If you are a patriot do not force it to others. Make them feel at home in India, be just to them when they seek Justice, do not dictate their diet, do not raze their Masjids to the ground, do not jail innocent Muslim kids, do not commit fake police encounter on their people, do not discriminate them when it to employment opportunities, do not burn their businesses, do not rape their women the list is endless. When everything is taken care of you'll see they'll teach a bit or two to you about patriotism.

For Mullah pigs, raising the national flag is controversial. These jihadis would have no problem if you wanted to raise ISIS flag or some green flag, but the flag of India is unacceptable for them.
