Opposition DMK on Wednesday said it is “regrettable” that the Tamil Nadu government has not given details on the health condition of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa despite their request in their regard.

Party Treasurer and Opposition Leader M K Stalin said his father and DMK President M Karunanidhi had earlier issued a statement, urging the state government to come out with ‘due explanation’ on the Chief Minister’s health, saying it would “put an end to all rumours” about her wellness.

To a question, Stalin ruled out possibility of him or Karunanidhi meeting the Chief Minister in Apollo Hospital, saying she was “reportedly” not in a position to do so.

There was no was no need for such a visit, he added.

68-year-old Jayalalithaa had been admitted to Apollo Hospital here since September 22 for fever and dehydration.

On October 2, the Hospital had said she was being treated for “infection” and “continues to improve”.

According to the Hospital, Jayalalithaa’s treatment plan include appropriate antibiotics, respiratory support and other allied clinical measures.

The expert opinion of a UK-based doctor had also been taken by the hospital.

In an elected democratic government the people have the right to know. If the CM is not well then the government is bound to explain the condition. It is funny that even the Governor of the state could not see her. I understand that she is in CCU am sure the governor can stand outside the door and see through the gl.

Its very sad... we are all driven with sentiments, emotional speech. The Government is elected by People. The health condition of Ms. Jaya is not supporting her to perform duties, its her duty to handover the responsibility to the next capabale person in the Cabinet or handover the responsibility. It may be Sasikala or Paneerselvan but do it. If she is not in a condition to speek or decision making, let the Council of Minister take decision with all elected MLAs presence to do what further. Central Government's representative Governor is not a strong person either to take the call. DMK Parties are concerned about the violance due to any negative news of Jaya's health. Its shame... its shame.. She is not Mother Teresa or APJ Abdul Kalam to be so proud of. She is a power hungry politician. DMK is toothless tigers. No newspaper in Tamil Nadu carries reall news of her health. I am shameful of being Tamilian. I pray for Ms. Jaya's recovery.

Information from the hospital should be enough. Asking for any further underlines ulterior motive. Even if judiciary asks for, they should, will get satisfied by hospital bulletin or if required same will be forwarded by Government. That's all.

chief minister of a state in a democracy, his/her role is to represent the state and its people as the people of that state elected him/her. he/she is absolutely an individual not above God/Bhagwan. no one can above Supreme Lord. this is an universal truth. as of date press newsreport carried the news of "dehydration and fever", for which specialist had visited from U K and now team of doctors r teamed up to treat / check the cm. normally, dehydration and fever - a hospital having renown name as Apollo Hospitals having various specialists with sophisticated medical equipments, they do not have a competent doctor/s for the above illness. it is best to remain in transparency to release news about a state of Head who is undergoing treatment in any hospital as the people of that State elected and they have every right to know about their elected Head. it is the moral duty of TN govt. to release news about the CM of their state.

why can't the Govt. of TN come with transparency to flash the news of their CM? what's obstructing before/behind such news. CM is a public figure elected by the people of that state and it is the moral duty of the govt. of the order to furnish news pertaining to the head of a state, what's going on ....... as per our Consution, it is necessary to make it known to the public about a State's Head activities. hiding or denying such news is unfair. India is a democratic country and not a dictatorship country.

truth cannot be dumped forever !! the more it dumps, the most it will come up, up, up, its a natural phenomenon, truly, it will come out, have patience. no human beings r above Bhagwan / God, the great Creator / Maker of this Universe. nothing can remain confidential or secret. nature itself will bring any secrecy to light. at this juncture, it is best to remain patience for some more days ............ what has come in, has to come out, better to remain patience to know the truth.

We should not wish bad to anybody. After all she too is a humanbeing like any of us. But the way secrecy being maintained is leading for speculations. TN Government should try to ensure end of speculations and rumours.

Before writing my comment, I would like to state that neither i am supporting any opposite parties nor a critic against our CM. Of course, I have very high regards to her for her courage, Karishma, pion to her profession and politics, more than anything her commanding atude in politics amidst all male dominated situation. But would also like to differentiate MS Jayalalitha as an Individual and as the CM of TM. Had Ms. Jayalalitha stepped down from her CM post and got admitted in hospital, no one has the right to ask about her health and to make it public. But, as the CM of TN, every individual has the right to ask about her state and health since the w of TN directly depends on her. What is wrong in publishing the video or a photo of her discussing face to face/ one to one with the senior Govt. officials and her ministers and dictating them as to how to present the arguments in the meeting on Cauvery dispute at Delhi.....? Are we living in the 21st century....... or in way before 17th Century......?
